PRESS RELEASE: For immediate release

Innovative construction technique receives US patent
Will make engines lighter and stronger

On June 5, 2001 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded patent #6,240,892 for an innovative method of constructing an internal combustion engine.
Developed by Nivek R&D, LLC, in a radical departure from traditional engine construction, this method involves the incorporation of several main engine components into one monolithic part. The resulting Monoblock™ yields several performance and manufacturing advantages.

Combined with Niveks other proprietary technologies, advantages include:
· Higher cylinder pressures allowing greater peak efficiencies
· Much lighter weight without sacrificing strength
· Greater structural rigidity
· Significantly reduced fastener count
· Reduced number of sealing surfaces, allowing for near elimination of gaskets
· Overall lower parts count (Engine structure can consist of as few as two parts)
· Power density approaches one horsepower per pound
· Significantly enhanced ease of manufacturability

With this addition to its intellectual property portfolio, Nivek R&D further positions itself as a world leader in compression ignition engines and propulsion technology.
Nivek R&D, LLC is an Indiana company that specializes in propulsion technology for the marine, aviation and government marketplace. A lightweight 200 HP compression-ignition engine is currently undergoing testing. For further information see us at www.nivek-rd.com or call 574-946-6757.
